| The investment
objectives of STRATA Income Fund (“STRATA”)are to hold units of
COMPASS Income Fund (“COMPASS”) and to use the distributions received
therefrom to fund fixed quarterly interest payments equal to 6% per annum on
the preferred securities and to fund monthly distributions on the capital
units. COMPASS is invested in a diversified portfolio of income trusts with an
emphasis on business trusts, supplemented by power and pipeline trusts, real
estate investment trusts and oil and gas royalty trusts. These consolidated
financial statements include the accounts of STRATA and COMPASS, a variable
interest entity (“VIE”) in respect of which STRATA is the primary
beneficiary (collectively, the “Fund”). |
